IHC(P) analysis shows positive staining of GPR19 in human enteric ganglion tissue.
The G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) superfamily is comprised of an estimated 600-1, 000 members and is the largest known class of molecular targets with proven therapeutic value. GPR19 is an orphan receptor found primarily in the central nervous system. GPR19 was also found in ovary and testis and in human embryonic stem cells. GPR19 has been postulated to play a role in cancer development and increased levels of GPR19 mRNA were found in metastatic melanoma, small cell lung carcinoma and pancreas islet cell carcinoma.
