Pur-beta Antibody (A303-650A) in IP
Detection of human Pur-beta by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) from Jurkat cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-Pur-beta antibody (Product # A303-650A) used for IP at 6 µg/mg lysate. Pur-beta was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-Pur-beta antibody A303-649A, which recognizes an upstream epitope. For blotting immunoprecipitated Pur-beta, A303-650A was used at 1 µg/mL. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 minutes.

Target Information
This gene product is a sequence-specific, single-stranded DNA-binding protein. It binds preferentially to the single strand of the purine-rich element termed PUR, which is present at origins of replication and in gene flanking regions in a variety of eukaryotes from yeasts through humans. Thus, it is implicated in the control of both DNA replication and transcription. Deletion of this gene has been associated with myelodysplastic syndrome and acute myelogenous leukemia.
