Western blot analysis of T7 Tag in A) 30 µg 293T whole cell lysate/extract; B) 30 µg whole cell lysate/extract of T7-tagged protein expressing 293T cells. Sample was separated with 12% SDS-PAGE, incubated with polyclonal T7 Tag antibody (Product # PA5-119612) at a dilution of 1:10000, and followed by HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG.

The T7 Tag is an 11 amino acid peptide derived from the bacteriophage T7 major capsid protein, gene 10. T7 cleavage site: MASMTGGQQMG. Epitope tags provide a method to localize gene products in a variety of cell types, study the topology of proteins and protein complexes, identify associated proteins, and characterize newly identified, low abundance or poorly immunogenic proteins when protein specific antibodies are not available.
