Emily Payne, PhD, has nearly a decade of experience working in qPCR technologies at Thermo Fisher Scientific. She earned her PhD in Experimental Pathology from Duke University, where she studied HIV-1 pathogenesis in the kidney.
After graduate school, Emily chose to apply her scientific training outside of the lab and joined Thermo Fisher as a technical writer. In this role, she developed user guides, instructions for use, and software documentation for PCR and capillary electrophoresis technologies.
She is now a Global Market Development Manager for qPCR reagents, where she partners with R&D scientists, product managers, and other subject matter experts to develop scientific content supporting research and clinical applications. Through her work, she has developed deep expertise across the qPCR ecosystem.
Outside of work, she enjoys life in New England, where things are often a little chaotic but fun with her two boys, a corgi, and a cat.
