FKBP12 Antibody (711275) in WB
Western blot analysis was performed on tissue extracts (30 µg lysate) of Mouse brain (Lane 1), Rat brain (Lane 2), Mouse heart (Lane 3) and Rat heart (Lane 4). The blots were probed with Anti-FKBP12 Recombinant Rabbit Superclonal™ Antibody (Product # 711275, 1-2 µg/mL) and detected by chemiluminescence using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG (Heavy Chain) Superclonal Secondary Antibody, HRP conjugate (Product # A27036, 0.4 µg/mL, 1:2500 dilution). FKBP12 is a member of the immunophilin protein family, which play a role in immunoregulation and basic cellular processes involving protein folding and trafficking. The protein is a cis-trans prolyl isomerase that binds the immunosuppressants FK506 and rapamycin. It interacts with several intracellular signal transduction proteins including type I TGF-beta receptor. It also interacts with multiple intracellular calcium release channels, and coordinates multi-protein complex formation of the tetrameric skeletal muscle ryanodine receptor. In mouse, deletion of this homologous gene causes congenital heart disorder known as noncompaction of left ventricular myocardium.
