Western blot analysis of HCN4 using HCN4 antibody (Product # PA5-143877). Electrophoresis was performed on a 5-20% SDS-PAGE gel at 70V (Stacking gel) / 90V (Resolving gel) for 2-3 hours. The sample well of each lane was loaded with 30 µg of sample under reducing conditions. Lane 1: rat brain tissue lysates; Lane 2: mouse brain tissue lysates. HCN4 is a member of the family of hyperpolarization-activated and cyclic-nucleotide-gated (HCN) channels. HCN currents have been linked to pacemaker activity in the heart and brain, resting potential control, as well as neuronal plasticity. It has been shown that HCN4 channels function as receptors for sour taste, and are associated with pacemaker potential generation in the sinoatrial node.
