Instructor-led and online electron microscopy training programs

Research is becoming increasingly interconnected and digital, leading to more collaborations and faster scientific discovery. This accelerated pace puts pressure on engineers and researchers to quickly learn the latest technology and instrumentation, a process that is still largely hands-on.

Our NanoPort Facilities offer both in-person and online training options designed to help you gain the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively use your electron microscopes. Whether you prefer the immersive, hands-on experience of instructor-led training or the flexibility and convenience of eLearning, we can meet your needs.

On-site training

Our on-site training program offers you the opportunity to host an application scientist in your facility for a hands-on, personalized training experience. Together, you can develop techniques and customize procedures for your research needs.

On-site training provides:

  • Instruction from an application scientist in your facility
  • Customized hands-on training delivered to a small group of instrument users
  • Guided hands-on practical experience
  • No remote connection necessary

Remote training

Our remote application training program brings our best application scientists and training material to you, no matter where you are in the world. Beyond simply enhancing on-site training, remote sessions can improve your autonomy and proficiency without worrying about mobility, travel, or laboratory space restrictions.

Remote training provides:

  • More flexibility than on-site training
  • Unlimited attendees
  • Cost-effective customized hands-on training
  • A recording of your training session

“Normally, when training, you sit with two or three people in a small room, leaning over each other to see what the trainer is doing at the console. Instead, we had a three-day training session with 27 people, with the microscope in Texas, and the trainer in Oregon. For three days, we worked as a team, and we were all listening and watching what was going on. […] And it doesn't matter. I mean, you could have people on the moon, as long as they have a good internet plan."

Edwin L. Thomas, PhD, Texas A&M University, USA

eLearning

Our eLearning program is our most cost-effective and flexible option, bringing our best application training materials to your fingertips. It helps you develop your application skills no matter where you are, when you’re available, or what your laboratory looks like.

eLearning provides:

  • Content designed to enhance skills and expertise
  • Enhanced productivity and return on investment
  • Access to a continuously growing library of materials
  • Single or multi-person seats

eLearning for electron microscopy customers is currently available in English. Terms and conditions apply.

“I truly believe these are incredibly useful courses, packed with information and detail at every level of knowledge. As someone who uses the instrument almost daily, I’ve found it to be an outstanding resource for deepening my understanding.”
