Immunocytochemistry analysis of API5 using anti-API5 antibody (Product # PA5-78793) . API5 was detected in an immunocytochemical section of SK-OV-3 cells. Enzyme antigen retrieval was performed using IHC enzyme antigen retrieval reagent for 15 mins. The cells were blocked with 10% goat serum and then incubated with 5 μg/mL rabbit anti-API5 antibody (Product # PA5-78793) overnight at 4°C. This gene encodes an apoptosis inhibitory protein whose expression prevents apoptosis after growth factor deprivation. This protein suppresses the transcription factor E2F1-induced apoptosis and also interacts with, and negatively regulates Acinus, a nuclear factor involved in apoptotic DNA fragmentation. Its depletion enhances the cytotoxic action of the chemotherapeutic drugs. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
