Experts in Legionella testing
Legionella pneumophila is a major cause of both pneumonia and an acute self-limiting febrile disease called Pontiac Fever. L. pneumophila serogroup 1 is responsible for the majority of adult Legionella infections with serogroup 6 present in a smaller number of cases. Other serogroups of L. pneumophila and another 19 species of Legionella are associated to a varying degree with human disease.

Confirm Legionella spp. according to ISO 11731 while reducing waste and saving space
Confirm Legionella from water samples using the Thermo Scientific Legionella BCYE Medium and TSA with Sheep Blood biplate combination. The BCYE Medium is non-selective and ensures optimal recovery of Legionellae, while TSA with Sheep Blood does not support Legionella growth, in accordance with ISO 11731. The biplate combination allows for a quick overview of the sample and faster hands on time for Legionella confirmation, all while saving valuable space and waste.
ISO 7704:2023-compliant testing
Our water testing media meets the latest requirements of ISO 7704:2023, the latest update specifying the requirements for performance testing of membrane filters used for the retention and subsequent direct enumeration of microorganisms by culture methods.
