Now, more than ever, we need to take responsibility for our actions. As global levels of atmospheric CO2 continue to increase, we need to be making positive steps forward to reduce our emissions and remove CO2 from the atmosphere. And that is why, starting today, the Inorganic Mass Spectrometry team will be producing net zero instruments.
IsoFootprint is a new initiative launched by the Inorganic Mass Spectrometry (IOMS) team to set the pathway towards true net zero. The aim of IsoFootprint is to remove 100% of CO2 emissions associated with our products and their supply chain by 2030 (Scope 1-3) through investment in a range of carefully selected, high-quality carbon dioxide removal (CDR) projects.
The journey to net zero will start with the introduction of a new net zero Gas Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer and will also be back-dated to include the Thermo Scientific Neoma MC-ICP-MS. All the CO2 emitted to the atmosphere during the manufacture of these instruments (from extraction of the raw materials to transport and assembly) will be removed from the atmosphere. For full details about the steps we are taking to remove CO2 associated with our products, please read our whitepaper. Join us on our journey to sustainable isotope analysis.
