Comprehensive Genetic Analysis Methods in Reproductive Health
Symposium Agenda
![]() | The New Era of Aneuploidy Testing in IVF: Trophectoderm Biopsy and NGS By Carmen Garcias, Molecular Biologist (Igenomix, Spain) Carmen García received her Bachelor´s degree in Biology and a PhD in Biotechnology at the University of Valencia. She also has a Master degree in Human Assisted Reproduction at Instituto Universitario IVI (Valencia, Spain). She also has an extensive experience in the study of chromosomal abnormalities in embryos using NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) technology at the Preimplantation Genetic Screening Laboratory placed in Igenomix (Valencia, Spain). She was also lab manager of IGENOMIX México for more than a year. At present, she is working in Igenomix Valencia in the PGS research department. |
![]() | Merging Sequencing and Structural Variant Analysis into A Single Preconception Expanded Carrier Screening Research Assay By Doron M. Behar, CEO (igentify, Israel) Doron M. Behar, serves as the CEO of igentify, LTD, and as the Chief Scientist Officer at Gene By Gene, LTD. Dr. Behar holds an MD and PhD degrees from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. Dr. Behar has multi-year background experience in the development of genetic testing for the public using a direct internet based customer approach at his capacity as the chief science officer of Gene by Gene Ltd. His primary interest is in developing robust, low-priced genetic testing to the general public that will allow the hope of responsible personalized genetic medicine to any individual worldwide. |
![]() | Chromosomal Microarray in Prenatal Diagnosis By Yi-Hui Lin, Medical Director (GGA, Taiwan) Dr. Yi-Hui Lin obtained her medical degree at Chang Gung University in Taoyuan, Taiwan. Her residency training of Obstetrics and Gynecology was at Mackay Memorial Hospital, and she completed her fellowship at Mackay Memorial Hospital in clinical cytogenetics and prenatal diagnosis. She is currently the medical director of Genesis Genetics Asia (GAA) Laboratory supervising pre- and post-natal chromosomal microarray (CMA) analysis and preimplantation genetic screening by CMA and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) since 2012. She is a member of the genetic counseling team of GGA Corp. and devotes herself to pre- and post-test counseling. |
![]() | Simultaneous PGT-A and PGT-M with Next Generation Sequencing By Luis A. Alcaraz, Co-Founder and Lab Director (Bioarray, Spain) Luis is technical manager and co-founder of Bioarray. He developed his scientific career in different fields related to molecular biology, from gene sequencing to drug discovery, but always with a strong interest in bioinformatics. He obtained his PhD degree in proteomics. During his postdoc, he changed the course of his research to developing biosensors, working in a project to detect biomarkers in the culture media of human embryo related to aneuploidy. At the same time, he funded Bioarray with Andrés Antón. From this moment, Luis has been working passionately in microarrays and next generation sequencing applied to genetic diagnosis. |
