For maximum recovery please spin prior to use. Unless noted below, aliquots of the 5 µg, 10 µg and 20 µg sizes of kinase are not recommended as materials can be used in original packaging until exhausted. For larger sizes, the number of freeze/thaws may be reduced by preparing aliquots, aliquots below 20 µL are not recommended. Please never store a kinase diluted. If properly stored at -80C, this product is guaranteed for 6 months from date of purchase.

LYN (v-yes-1 Yamaguchi sarcoma viral related oncogene homolog) is a SRC family kinase expressed predominantly in hematopoietic, neural, liver, and adipose tissue. It is a protein-coding gene and is associated with diseases such as alexia and chorea-acanthocytosis. Activation of LYN has been shown to lead to imatinib resistance in CML patients. LYN B and the slightly shorter LYN A are the two isoforms of LYN. An important paralog of Lyn Isoform A is FRK. The full length LYN A protein enables researchers to study important mechanisms underlying disease. Diseases associated with LYN include Sarcoma and Myeloid Leukemia. Among its related pathways are Signaling by Erythropoietin and Regulation of actin dynamics for phagocytic cup formation. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to Lyn Isoform A include transferase activity, transferring phosphorus-containing groups and protein tyrosine kinase activity. An important paralog of Lyn Isoform A is HCK.
