The High Capacity cDNA Reverse Transcription Kit (formerly the High Capacity cDNA Archive Kit) delivers extremely high-quality, single-stranded cDNA from 0.02 to 2 μg input total RNA. Ideal for generating cDNA archives. The High Capacity cDNA Reverse Transcription Kit can convert up to 2 μg of input total RNA in a single 20 μl reaction. Reactions can be scaled up to 100 μl to generate 10 μg of cDNA from a single reaction The cDNA generated is ideal for a range of applications including real-time PCR, standard PCR, and microarrays.
Dynamic Range – 10-fold dynamic range
Sensitive – Generates cDNA from 0.02 to 2 μg input total RNA
Flexibility – Tested with a variety of RNA templates including GC and AU-rich targets and RNAs expressed at low levels

How long can I store the cDNA from my reverse transcription step?

You can store your cDNA at 2-6 degrees C for up to 24 hours. For long-term storage, store the cDNA at -15 to -25 degrees C and add EDTA to a final concentration of 1 mM to prevent degradation.

Can one use the reagents from High Capacity RT kit to make cDNA for TaqMan MicroRNA Assay?

Yes. You can use the reagents from the High Capacity cDNA Kit PN 4368814 (without RNAse Inhibitor) or 4374966 (with RNAse Inhibitor). Make sure to use the reverse transcription primer provided from the TaqMan miRNA assay for the reverse transcription.

Which kit should I use for the reverse transcription step for TaqMan Pri-miRNA assays (Cat. No. 4427012)?

We recommend the following kits:

Is the 25X 100 mM dNTP Mix included in the High Capacity cDNA Reverse Transcription Kit (Cat. No. 4368813, 4368814) 100 mM each or 100 mM combined?

It contains a blend of 100 mM solution of dNTP (25 mM each of dATP, dCTP, dGTP and dTTP).
