Western Blot using SUCLA2 Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-118292) at 1:500 dilution. Lane A: HepG2 Whole Cell Lysate, Lane B: MOLT-4 Whole Cell Lysate, Lane C: U-251 MG Whole Cell Lysate. Lysates/proteins at 30 μg per lane. Secondary antibody: Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L)/HRP at 1:10,000 dilution. Developed using the ECL technique. Performed under reducing conditions. Predicted band size: 50 kDa. Observed band size: 45 kDa.

ATP-specific succinyl-CoA synthetase functions in the citric acid cycle (TCA), coupling the hydrolysis of succinyl-CoA to the synthesis of ATP and thus represents the only step of substrate-level phosphorylation in the TCA. The beta subunit provides nucleotide specificity of the enzyme and binds the substrate succinate, while the binding sites for coenzyme A and phosphate are found in the alpha subunit.
