Western blot analysis of IL17B in Lane 1: rat gastric tissue lysate, Lane 2: human COLO-320 whole cell lysate, Lane 3: human HeLa whole cell lysate, Lane 4: human SGC-7901 whole cell lysate using 50 µg (reducing conditions) per well. Electrophoresis was performed on 5-20% SDS-PAGE gel at 70V (Stacking gel) / 90V (Resolving gel) for 2-3 hours and protein was transferred to a nitrocellulose membrane at 150mA for 50-90 minutes. The protein encoded by this gene is a T cell-derived cytokine that shares sequence similarity with IL17. This cytokine was reported to stimulate the release of TNF alpha (TNF) and IL1 beta (IL1B) from a monocytic cell line. Immunohistochemical analysis of several nerve tissues indicated that this cytokine is primarily localized to neuronal cell bodies.
