Western Blot analysis of HIV1 p24 using HIV1 p24 (group M, subtype B, strain HXB2) Polyclonal (Product # PA5-81800) at a 1:1,000 dilution. Sample: HIV-1 p24 Protein (group M, subtype B, strain HXB2) recombinant protein. Lane A: 50 ng, Lane B: 10 ng. Secondary Goat Anti- Rabbit IgG H&L (Dylight 800) at 1:10,000 dilution. Developed using the Odyssey technique. Performed under reducing conditions.

HIV-1 Gag p24 is a capsid protein that constitutes the core of the AIDS virus HIV-1 and is produced by the digestion of its precursor Gag p55 by HIV-1 protease. The HIV-1 Gag p24 protein is indispensable to the reproduction of AIDS virus, and constitutes an essential element for the AIDS virus particle construction. HIV-1 Gag p24 is detectable from the early stage of AIDS virus infection, and is used as a marker for observation of the development in the patient's condition after treatment, as it indicated the amount of virus in the blood.
