Cation Analysis
Use the Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ EWP Electrolytic Water Purifier to generate ultrapure water for sample and standard transfers in trace anion and cation ion chromatography (IC) applications. This device purifies transfer water to practically eliminate contamination and provide the extremely low background levels required for trace analysis. This dual-chamber electrolytic device is available in anion and cation versions.

Effluent from the conductivity cell supplies feed water for the Electrolytic Water Purifier. Water passing through the Electrolytic Water Purifier's main purification chamber exits the device free of ionic contamination, including carbonate. This device is used in AutoPrep mode, which enhances simplicity by eliminating the need for an auxiliary loading pump and removing potential contamination from the pump.

The Electrolytic Water Purifier is powered by either the:

  • Standard auxiliary power supply on the Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ ICS-2100 system, or the
  • Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ CR-TC Continuously Regenerated Trap Column power supply on the Dionex ICS-5000+ Eluent Generator (EG) module.

The Electrolytic Water Purifier is one of several examples of Reagent-Free™ Ion Chromatography - Electrolytic Sample Preparation (RFIC™-ESP™).
