Contain samples and daily working solutions like buffers and bench reagents with Thermo Scientific™ Nalgene™ Narrow-Mouth HDPE Economy Bottles, lightweight versions of the original Nalgene Lab Quality Bottle. Suitable for lighter-duty, general purpose applications, these high-density polyethylene bottles are leakproof† when used with Nalgene closures. Made only from high-quality, laboratory-grade plastic materials for dependably low leachables and extractables. This product is ACT Labeled by My Green Lab to enable data-based sustainable product purchasing decisions.

  • Linerless polypropylene caps ensure leakproof† performance without a liner that can wrinkle, cause leaks and contaminate your solutions
  • Recommended for sample collection and storage of daily working solutions
  • Bottles participate in My Green Labs' ACT Label program for Accountability, Consistency and Transparency around product sustainability

Recycling Information
Nalgene reusable HDPE bottles are designed to last many years under typical laboratory conditions. Yet, as with all durable products, they need to be retired and replaced eventually.  Nalgene HDPE bottles and their packaging are readily recyclable. Please recycle the corrugate cartons and LDPE bags in which your Nalgene bottles products are packaged. And at end of product life, please wash and recycle your Nalgene HDPE bottles.

† The term leakproof applies to Thermo Scientific Nalgene products that meet the following criteria: a) Bottle/flask/funnel closure systems with closures smaller than 100mm, after they are filled with water, inverted, withstand air pressure of 2psig for 2 minutes, and no water escapes;. b) Bottle/funnel/flask closure systems of larger than 100mm after they are filled with water, inverted for 15 minutes, and no water escapes. Note: these tests, using other liquids, may not yield the same results. To ensure safe usage, customers are advised to test Thermo Scientific Nalgene bottles and closures under conditions of their planned applications. Thermo Scientific Nalgene products are leakproof at ambient temperature and pressure when used with their Nalgene closures.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Why are your Nalgene containers and caps always different materials?

In order to function as a leakproof system without a liner (one of the key advantages of our laboratory and packaging products), the surfaces of the container and closure that meet and push together when tightened must be dissimilar materials with different hardnesses. Even our polypropylene copolymer (PPCO) bottles with polypropylene homopolymer (PP) bottles are different enough to function properly. On some larger carboy products, this difference cannot be sufficiently maintained so a pliable thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) gasket is added for proper leakproof seal function.
