Choose from a comprehensive selection of pipette tips. Thermo Scientific™ Matrix Pipette Tips are supplied in innovative new Thermo Scientific™ Flo-Thru™ racks. Matrix pipetters and pipet tips are designed together to ensure that a perfect balance exists between security of the seal and ease of application/ejection. Manufactured under tight QC specifications, these standard tips rival special low-retention tips currently on the market after pipetting fluids such as dH2O, 50% Glycerol, Hybridized Buffer and 0.1% SDS.

Benefits:

  • Sealing rings on tips ensure confident, leak-free seal without banging tips on pipetter.
  • Because the sealing rings compress, these tips also offer a secure seal on most other pipetters on the market.
  • Highly polished molds and rigorous maintenance procedures ensure low liquid retention tips without special treatments or additives.
  • Stabilization rings in racks hold tips steady when seating on pipetter.
  • Venting features in rack ensure proper heat flow during autoclaving and reduce condensation on tips.
  • Finger notch on racks allows easy removal/insertion of refill trays.

Innovative Racks and Packaging:

  • Rigid rack design ensures solid, even tip seating; rack will not flex or bend when trying to apply tips.
  • Unique Thermo Scientific™ Flo-Thru™ rack individually supports tips to prevent them from wobbling when trying to seat them on the pipetter.
  • Hinge prevents sterile lid from coming in contact with lab bench.
  • Venting along the edge or around each tip improves heat flow during autoclaving; reduces condensation that can form on the tips.
  • Dual-position lid can be propped open to prevent vacuum deformation during autoclaving.
  • Sterile racks are sold in individual bags with quick-tear openings; each rack remains sterile until ready for use.
  • Each rack is labeled with product details including re-ordering information, description, volume range, and lot number.
  • Racks are constructed of clean recycled materials and are made as small as possible to reduce waste.
  • Racks are marked with appropriate symbols to support recycling initiatives.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

What type of slide is appropriate for IHC?

There are many types of IHC-compatible slides, but we recommend SuperFrost Plus (VWR Cat# 48311-703) or Fisherbrand Superfrost slides (VWR cat#22-034-979). These slides have a permanent positive charge on their surfaces, which helps tissue sections and cells to adhere electrostatically to them. Thus, in most cases there is no need to apply any special tissue adhesives or other coatings to the slides before using them.

Other types of glass slides are also used for IHC, although they may need to be treated to promote tissue adherence. Commonly used methods include coating slides with various reagents which help the tissues stick to the glass. These materials include poly-L-lysine, chrome alum-gelatin, Mayer's albumin, starch paste, collagen, and 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APES or TES). Thermo Fisher Scientific' slide coating reagent is called HistoGrip concentrate (Cat. No. 00-8050). HistoGrip concentrate creates a strong bond between the tissue and the slide surface. Enzyme digestion and other antigen retrieval procedures, and even the temperatures used in CISH and FISH will not remove tissues attached using HistoGrip concentrate. Our testing showed that a HistoGrip concentrate coating results in better tissue adherence than one composed of poly-L-lysine.
