Introduction to CRISPR-Cas9 Genome Editing: Design to Analysis, 4 days, training center
Learn the fundamentals of genome editing through a basic mammalian cell engineering workflow using CRISPR-Cas9, from design and synthesis of target-specific guide RNAs to analysis of gene editing efficiency. The course is hosted at Thermo Fisher Scientific Training Center sites and provides professional, interactive education that includes classroom training and hands-on instruction in the laboratory. At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to:

• Outline the key concepts for initial design of an editing experiment
• Design and synthesize optimal target-specific gRNA molecules and homology-directed repair templates
• Select an effective transfection strategy for a specific cell line and explain how to optimize the conditions
• Describe the processes for measuring overall editing efficiency with a mismatch detection assay, and outline more specific methods to verify sequence changes in common knockout and knock-in applications

Tuition includes*:
• A course guide containing lecture materials, protocols, and troubleshooting tips
• Laboratory reagents and consumables
• Light breakfast, snacks, and lunch each day

*Travel, accommodations, and other incidental expenses related to the training are the participant’s responsibility.
