Pre-enrich food and environmental samples prior to the isolation of Salmonella, Cronobacter, and Enterobacteriaceae using Thermo Scientific™ Buffered Peptone Water (ISO) Ready Bag in a double strength concentration.
This double strength BPW formulation is applicable for the pre-enrichment of food and environmental products with an acidic pH (lower than 4.5) for the detection of
Salmonella,
Cronobacter, and
Enterobacteriaceae as specified in ISO 6579-1
1, ISO 22964
2, ISO 21528-1
3, and ISO 6887-1
4. In double concentration, the media is intended to be used as follows:
- It is ideal when dry samples are tested (powders, spices, environmental swabs), as it provides stronger buffer capacity and stabilizes the pH while supporting cell recovery
- It is ideal for testing whole poultry carcasses
- It allows 1:1 dilution with samples (no water added)
Key Benefits
- Preserves bacterial load when you can’t use 10X broth volume
- Avoids over-dilution of target organisms in high-sample-volume cases
- Supports recovery of stressed or sub-lethally injured bacteria (e.g., heat-treated, dried foods)
- Maintains pH stability and resuscitation efficiency
Ready Bags are carefully designed to provide an effective and dependable way to pre-enrich food and environmental samples for subsequent pathogen isolation, fully compliant with ISO standards.
Key features and benefits include:
- Ready-to-Use: Our pre-prepared Ready Bags save time by eliminating the need for preparation
- Easy to Transport and Store: Equipped with ergonomic handles for simple movement and storage
- 1-Year Shelf Life
- Available in Packs of 3 bags
- Storage Conditions: 2-25°C
- Tamper-evident ports on the Ready Bags help prevent contamination; they are also more durable and resistant to breaking
- Sturdy hanging apertures reduce bench space and improve dispensing efficiency
