The Thermo Scientific™ MSA-430 Multi-Stream Slurry XRF Analyzer provides reliable real-time elemental analysis for up to 12 slurry streams, delivering information for monitoring and control of mineral beneficiation circuits. Utilizing an air-cooled, low power X-ray tube for high reliability and low cost operation, MSA-430 is safer without radioisotopes. By keeping each stream in a separate analysis zone MSA-430 eliminates cross-contamination without any need for a multiplexer or demultiplexer, minimizing head loss and plant elevation requirements. For use in outdoor industrial environments.

The MSA-430 Multi-Stream Slurry XRF Analyzer quantifies % solids and up to 20 elements for between 3 and 12 slurry streams according to a predefined schedule to deliver real-time process trend information for monitoring and control. Here are the key features:

  • MEP-400 Multi-Element Probe utilizes an air-cooled low power X-ray tube for long life and low maintenance cost. Operation is made safer without the use of radioisotopes.
  • Advanced energy dispersive Silicon Drift Detector and high throughput Digital Signal Processor provides high accuracy measurement and lower limits of detection from calcium to uranium, with integrated Peltier cooler for reliable, trouble-free operation.
  • MSA-430 is designed for operation in outdoor industrial environments.
  • Without the need for a multiplexer or de-multiplexer, MSA-430 is a low head loss solution that can help to eliminate the need for pumps, lowering implementation and operational costs for a centralized analyzer system.
  • A dedicated, separate path for each process stream, from sample point to sample discharge, aids in the elimination of cross-contamination and simplified sample return.
  • Cross-cut sampler for each stream provides sampling for analyzer calibration and shift composite samples.
  • Flowrate capability is able to handle the full flow of low flowrate process streams, giving more representative measurements. A pressure pipe or gravity pipe Process Sampler can be used to sample higher flowrate streams.
  • When handling full flow, or when fed from a SamStat-30 instead of a pressure pipe or gravity pipe sampler, the dedicated cross-cut samplers in the MSA-430 can be used to acquire composite sample for metallurgical balancing purposes.
  • Optional vacuum filters are available for the each of the composite samplers, which saves time and lessens manual handling at the end of shifts.
