Thermo Scientific PathoProof Software changes the Ct-values to semi-quantitative results and reports the most abundant target if it is present in over 90% of the total bacterial load. The software license is for 1 to 5 users.

Thermo Scientific PathoProof RT-PCR assays identify the main mastitis-causing microorganisms and the Staphylococcal β-lactamase gene responsible for the penicillin resistance in Staphylococci. These microorganisms are responsible for 95 to 99% of all clinical and subclinical mastitis cases worldwide.

• Assays are based on real-time PCR, an accurate and sensitive technology for identification of the target DNA in the sample
• Tests can be used for analyzing fresh and preserved quarter milk samples, milk recording samples and bulk tank milk samples
• All targeted species are detected simultaneously, overcoming the common problem of mixed growth results of bacterial culturing
• Validation studies indicate superior analytical specificity and sensitivity over traditional methods, even for samples that show no growth in culture
• Accurate detection of viable, dead and growth-inhibited microorganisms reduces no-growth results
