Grow and differentiate Listeria monocytogenes and Listeria spp. in food samples using Thermo Scientific™ Brilliance™ Listeria with the Precis method (Listeria One Broth) to achieve results 48 hour earlier than traditional methods.
Isolate and presumptively identify Listeria monocytogenes and Listeria spp. in food samples using a cost-effective and time-sensitive alternative to the ISO version.
Brilliance Listeria Agar uses the chromogen X-glucoside for presumptive identification of Listeria spp. This chromogen is cleaved by ß-glucosidase which is common to all Listeria species. Other organisms that possess this enzyme, such as enterococci, are inhibited by the selective agents, lithium chloride, polymyxin B and nalidixic acid, within the medium, while amphotericin inhibits the growth of any yeasts and moulds present in the sample. Listeria monocytogenes and pathogenic Listeria ivanovii are then further differentiated by their ability to produce the phospholipase enzyme, lecithinase. This enzyme hydrolyses the lecithin in the medium, producing an opaque white halo around the colony.
This product can be used with One Broth Listeria enrichment broth (CM1066B) to obtain results within two days instead of 3 to 5 days with the AFNOR validated method.
