For isocratic separations of mono- and disaccharides in foods, drugs, and plants, the Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ CarboPac™ PA10 IC Columns provide superior selectivity. Combined with pulsed amperometric detection (PAD), this anion-exchange column delivers high-resolution separations. It is an ideal choice for separating mono- and disaccharides in mammalian glycoproteins. The column efficiently resolves fucose from the system void and from protein hydrolysate interferents. Oxygen elutes after mannose, eliminating interference with monosaccharides.
Dionex CarboPac PA10 Columns consist of 10μm diameter nonporous beads covered with a fine latex of functionalized Thermo Scientific™ Dionex™ MicroBead™ resin. This pellicular resin structure permits excellent mass transfer, resulting in high-resolution chromatography and rapid re-equilibration.

Sensitive Analysis of Mono- and Disaccharides
  • Ideal for the quantification of acidic, neutral, and aminomonosaccharides
  • Well suited for separation of sialic acids when sodium acetate added to the eluent
  • Simple isocratic separations
  • No derivatization required
  • Gradient compatible
  • Available in microbore and standard bore formats

About the Dionex CarboPac Family of Columns

The Dionex CarboPac family offers a selection of ion chromatography (IC) columns, each optimized for a different class of carbohydrates. Combined with PAD, which provides a means to detect carbohydrates without derivatization, these columns support simple, reliable techniques to separate sugar alcohols, mono- and disaccharides, and poly- and oligosaccharides.

Dionex CarboPac columns provide high-resolution separations of:

  • Glycoprotein oligosaccharides and complex carbohydrates from dietary fiber, including fructans, maltodextrins, and amylopectins
  • Monosaccharides, such as those obtained from glycoprotein hydrolysates or plant hydrolysates
  • Mono- and disaccharides
