链霉素亲和素是一种起初从阿维丁链霉菌中分离出的生物素结合蛋白。与亲和素相比,链霉素亲和素没有碳水化合物且弱酸性 pI 为 5。Thermo Scientific 链霉素亲和素产品使用重组形式的链霉素亲和素,其质量为 53,000 道尔顿,pI 接近中性。链霉素亲和素是四聚体蛋白,各亚单元结合一分子生物素,亲和性与亲和素相似。盐酸胍可以将亲和链霉素亲和素解离为亚单元,但链霉素亲和素对解离耐受性更强。

链霉素亲和素-碱性磷酸酶偶联物能够在多种标准测定方法(包括 Western 印迹、ELISA、免疫组织化学技术和荧光成像)中检测生物素化抗体和其他探针。
