Target Information
Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), an emerging disease characterized by atypical pneumonia, has been attributed to a novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV). The SARS 3C-like protease (SARS 3CL (pro)) is a cysteine protease engaging in the proteolytic cleavage of the viral precursor polyprotein to a series of functional proteins required for corona virus replication and is considered an attractive target for therapeutics against SARS.
