Method development points

SIM Bridge

  1. The SIM Bridge tool allows SIM methods exported from other sources to be translated to the TSQ 9000 system method. Those SIM methods can be immediately run on the TSQ 9000 system or through AutoSRM to translate the SIM information into a powerful SRM method.

AutoSRM

  1. AutoSRM is your very own mass spectrometer method development expert integrated into your system. This software walks you through the development of fully optimized SIM target ions or SRM transitions in a very simple and efficient workflow. If you like to develop from your current SIM method, SIM Bridge streamlines the workflow by importing your method details. All together, it is full MS and MS/MS method development independence, even for the less experienced user.

Timed-SRM method

  1. As more compounds are added to a single run, managing acquisition windows becomes increasingly complex. The TSQ 9000 system dramatically reduces this complexity by automatically optimizing the targeting of a particular compound. Simply enter the retention time and the time required to capture the peak, and t-SRM takes care of the rest. This ensures that compound detection is optimized for maximum sensitivity, and more compounds can be added to the method without compromising the excellent sensitivity of each individual analyte. The mass spectrometer is not consuming valuable resources scanning for compounds at the times when those compounds are not eluting.

Independently heated zones for transfer line, ion source, and ion optics help ensure that the system stays cleaner for a longer period of time.

The optimized GC-MS transferline evenly distributes heat across the length of the analytical column, ensuring that there are no hot or cold spots, which in turn delivers Gaussian peak shapes, even for high boiling point compounds.

Ion source probes

Direct insertion probe

Optional ion source probes enable you to perform real-time MS and MS/MS experiments on solid samples with easy switching between EI and CI modes. Like the ExtractaBrite ion source, the probes can be removed without venting.

Available ion source probes:

Direct Insertion Probe (DIP) for rapid analysis of components in solid matrices.

Direct Exposure Probe (DEP) for rapid molecular weight confirmation of solids dissolved or suspended in liquid solvents.

MS software innovations advance method development

MS software innovations advance method development

The Thermo Scientific ISQ 7610 GC-MS and TSQ 9610 GC-MS/MS systems include a comprehensive set of software features for instrument tuning, and method development and optimization of targeted quantification and untargeted screening workflows. The software provides users with a seamless experience during the transition from other platforms. Intelligent instrument health monitoring helps you know when to perform planned maintenance ensures sample analysis is not interrupted due to a drop in instrument performance.

AutoSIM and Timed-SIM

AutoSIM saves time during method set up. The software provides automated, user-selectable, criteria-guided development of SIM method from full scan data, either automatically acquired by AutoSIM or imported from external data files (CSV, Excel, LIMS database).

For maximum sensitivity, Timed-SIM (t-SIM) acquisition helps users optimize the dwell times used in SIM-based quantitation of large numbers of analytes, especially for co-eluting analytes. AutoSIM can be used together with t-SIM to completely automate workflows.

SIM Bridge and AutoSRM

SIM Bridge translates SIM methods from other sources into TSQ 9610 GC-MS/MS system methods. The SIM methods can then be immediately used as-is, or converted into more powerful SRM methods using AutoSRM.

AutoSRM walks users through selection of optimum SRM transitions for TSQ 9610 GC-MS/MS system methods. Together, SIM Bridge and AutoSRM enable even less-experienced staff to rapidly develop MS and MS/MS methods.

Retention time alignment

Retention Time Alignment (RTA) is a fast, flexible, and easy way to maintain retention times during high-throughput GC-MS system operation. RTA uses the void time of the column and retention time of a reference substance to provide new column dimension settings, or to correct carrier gas pressure or flow values to realign chromatographic peaks. After a column replacement or trim, the user can quickly realign the retention time.
