CD70 Antibody (17-0701-82) in Flow
C57BL/6 mouse splenocytes were unstimulated (orange histogram) or stimulated for 96 hours with LPS (Product # 00-4976-03) and CD40 Monoclonal Antibody, Functional Grade (Product # 16-0401-85) (purple histogram). Cells were then stained with 0.125 µg of CD70 Monoclonal Antibody, APC. Total viable cells were used for analysis, as determined by 7-AAD (Product # 00-6993-50).

Description: The FR70 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD70, a 30-33 kDa type II transmembrane glycoprotein. CD70 is a member of the TNF family and is expressed by activated mouse T and B lymphocytes. Interaction of CD70 with CD27, its ligand on T cells, is important in T-B cell crosstalk and plays a role in costimulation and immune regulation.
Applications Reported: This FR70 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: This FR70 antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of stimulated mouse splenocytes. This may be used at less than or equal to 0.25 µg per test. A test is defined as the amount (µg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest.

Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand family. This cytokine is a ligand for TNFRSF27/CD27. It is a surface antigen on activated, but not on resting, T and B lymphocytes. It induces proliferation of costimulated T cells, enhances the generation of cytolytic T cells, and contributes to T cell activation. This cytokine is also reported to play a role in regulating B-cell activation, cytotoxic function of natural killer cells, and immunoglobulin synthesis.
