CDY1 and CDY2 (Chromodomain Y-linked 1 and 2) are genes located on the Y chromosome that encode proteins involved in chromatin remodeling and spermatogenesis. These proteins contain a chromodomain, which is important for binding to specific regions of chromatin and regulating gene expression during the development of sperm cells. Mutations or deletions in these genes can lead to male infertility due to defects in sperm development.
