Sequence of this protein is as follows: PSGVLGMAFP TKG
QKI-6 is an isoform of the RNA-binding protein QKI (Quaking), which plays a crucial role in the regulation of RNA splicing, stability, and translation. This protein is particularly important for the development and maintenance of the nervous system, including the formation and maintenance of myelin sheaths around nerve fibers. Dysregulation or mutations in QKI-6 have been associated with various neurological disorders, such as schizophrenia and demyelinating diseases.
