Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
ABF3 encodes a nuclear basic leucine zipper (bZIP) transcription factor in Arabidopsis thaliana that is induced by abscisic acid (ABA) and environmental stress. The gene produces multiple mRNA isoforms and is organized into five exons, encoding a protein with a conserved C-terminal basic region for sequence-specific DNA binding and an adjacent leucine zipper that mediates homo- and hetero-dimerization typical of bZIP regulators. Functionally, ABF3 binds ABA-responsive elements (ABREs) in target promoters and acts as a transcriptional activator in ABA signaling, promoting expression of stress-responsive genes; genetic and transgenic studies show that elevated ABF3 activity increases ABA sensitivity and enhances drought tolerance, consistent with a role as a central regulator of ABRE-dependent gene expression during water-deficit stress.
