Store at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
ACA2, also called Calcium transporting ATPase 2, is a plant P type Ca2 plus ATPase that pumps cytosolic calcium into endomembrane stores, primarily the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi, to restore basal calcium levels after signaling events. ACA2 uses ATP hydrolysis to transport Ca2 plus against its gradient and is autoinhibited by its N terminal regulatory domain, which can be relieved by binding of calmodulin or by phosphorylation, enabling stimulus responsive control. By shaping calcium oscillations and signal termination, ACA2 influences diverse processes such as stress responses, hormone signaling, stomatal function, and growth. In Arabidopsis, ACA2 is one of several ACAs with partially overlapping roles, and its expression is modulated by developmental cues and environmental triggers. Mutational and expression studies indicate that ACA2 contributes to cellular Ca2 plus homeostasis and proper trafficking and function of the secretory pathway.
