Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
ACC synthase 7 (ACS7) is a protein-coding Arabidopsis thaliana gene whose product functions in the cytosol as a pyridoxal 5-phosphate (PLP)-dependent enzyme of the aspartate aminotransferase fold (class I/II aminotransferase-like domain architecture). The encoded polypeptide is ~447 aa and comprises a conserved catalytic core typical of plant 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate (ACC) synthases, plus distinctive non-catalytic terminal regions; notably, ACS7 is the sole Arabidopsis "type 3" ACS and contains an extended N-terminus that acts as a degron, with the first ~14 residues sufficient to promote ubiquitin-26S proteasome-dependent turnover and thereby tune enzyme abundance in a developmentally and stress-responsive manner. Functionally, ACS7 catalyzes the committed, rate-limiting step of ethylene biosynthesis by converting S-adenosyl-L-methionine to ACC (with 5-methylthioadenosine as coproduct), contributing to ethylene-regulated growth and stress physiology; genetic and biochemical evidence links ACS7 activity to processes including vascular/cambial development and abiotic stress responses, consistent with its role in modulating ethylene production through both enzymatic activity and tight post-translational control.
