Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; Once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
ACO4 encodes a soluble 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate (ACC) oxidase isoform from Arabidopsis thaliana that localizes predominantly to the cytosol and functions in the terminal step of ethylene biosynthesis by catalyzing the conversion of ACC to ethylene. The ACO4 polypeptide is a small, single-chain enzyme (approximately 36 kDa) lacking transmembrane segments, and belongs to the ACC oxidase family of non-heme Fe(2+)/ascorbate-dependent oxidases/oxygenases; consistent with this class, it is expected to coordinate ferrous iron at the active site and use molecular oxygen to drive ethylene formation. Through this enzymatic activity, ACO4 contributes to spatial and temporal control of ethylene production, a central regulator of diverse plant developmental programs and stress responses, and provides an additional regulatory node downstream of ACC synthesis in tuning ethylene output in specific tissues and conditions.
