ADAMTSL2, or A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase with Thrombospondin Motifs Like 2, is a gene that codes for a secreted glycoprotein involved in the regulation of extracellular matrix (ECM) and associated proteases. The gene, initially identified by the Kazusa DNA Research Institute, plays a crucial role in various biological processes including ECM remodeling. Mutations or alterations in ADAMTSL2 are implicated in multiple diseases, including genetic disorders like geleophysic dysplasia and cancer.
