AGO1 Antibody (PA5-114829) in ICC/IF
Immunocytochemistry analysis of AGO1 in Hela cells. The samples were fixed with PFA and permeabilized in 0.1% Triton X-100, then blocked in 10% serum for 45 minutes at 25°C. Samples were incubated with AGO1 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-114829) and mouse anti-beta tubulin antibody for 1 hour at 37°C. An AlexaFluor594 conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG (Red) and an AlexaFluor488 conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG (Green) were used as the secondary antibodies. The nuclear counter stain is DAPI (blue).

Antibody detects endogenous levels of total AGO1.

AGO1 is a member of the Argonaute family of proteins which play a role in RNA interference. The protein is highly basic, and contains a PAZ domain and a PIWI domain. It may interact with dicer1 and play a role in short-interfering-RNA-mediated gene silencing. AGO1 binds to miRNAs or siRNAs and represses the translation of mRNAs.
