Proteins with ankyrin repeats typically serve as scaffolds for protein-protein interactions, thus playing a critical role in various cellular processes, such as signal transduction, cell cycle regulation, and the maintenance of cellular structure. While the specific functions of ANKRD45 remain largely unexplored, studies on related ankyrin repeat proteins suggest that they may have roles in cellular stress responses and cancer development.
