Azoxystrobin is a fungicide that belongs to the class of strobilurin fungicides. It is widely used in agriculture to protect crops from fungal diseases such as powdery mildew, leaf spots, and rusts. Azoxystrobin works by inhibiting the respiratory chain of fungal cells, disrupting their energy production and leading to their death. It is also used in the treatment of plant diseases caused by soil-borne pathogens. Azoxystrobin has a broad spectrum of activity against various fungal species and is effective in controlling both foliar and soil-borne diseases.
