Western blot analysis of BMP-8A in Lane 1: SGC7901 whole cell lysate (40 µg), Lane 2: L02 whole cell lysate (40 µg), Lane 3: the Heart tissue lysate of rat (40 µg), Lane 4: the Kidney tissue lysate of mouse (40 µg), Lane 5: PC12 whole cell lysate (40 µg), Lane 6: CT26 whole cell lysate (40 µg). Samples were incubated with BMP-8A polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-36435) at a dilution of 1:500.

Bone morphogenic proteins (BMPs) are members of the TGF beta superfamily. BMPs are involved in the induction of cartilage and bone formation.BMP-8 is thought to be involved in early development, as detectable expression has not been found in adult organs. Two BMP-8 proteins exist, namely BMP-8A and BMP-8B (also designated OP-2), and are encoded by two distinct genes.
