Please note: We are reviewing Western blot images included in the antibody testing data in our catalog, including those provided by third parties. Unless expressly labeled or annotated as “raw-unedited”, Western blot images included in the antibody testing data in our catalog may have been edited, optimized or otherwise adjusted for presentation.
This antibody recognizes an extracellular epitope of CD148, a highly glycosylated up to 250 kDa receptor-like protein tyrosine phosphatase expressed mainly in lymphocytes, myeloid cells and epithelial cells.
CD148 is a highly glycosylated transmembrane protein of up to 250 kDa, containing eight fibronectin type III domains in the extracellular region and one tyrosine phosphatase domain in the cytoplasmic region. Expression is found broadly on fibroblasts, epithelial cells, lymphocytes (B, T and NK cells), and myeloid cells (monocytes and granulocytes). CD148 can dephosphorylate proteins such as LAT and PLC-gamma, and is involved in the downregulation of T cell activation. Conversely, CD148 expression can be upregulated following T cell activation.
