Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana, Hordeum vulgare, Vicia faba, Oryza sativa, Pinus yunnanensi, Zea mays
CDC2, also called CDK1 in many systems, is a core cyclin dependent kinase that drives cell cycle progression by partnering with cyclins to control transitions through G2 M and other phases. In plants, CDC2 related CDKs phosphorylate substrates that regulate DNA replication initiation, chromosome condensation, microtubule dynamics, and cytokinesis, ensuring coordinated division and development. Activity of CDC2 is tuned by cyclin binding, inhibitory and activating phosphorylations, and association with CDK inhibitors, integrating signals from hormones such as auxin and cytokinin, stress, and developmental cues. Plant genomes contain multiple CDC2 like genes with tissue specific expression, enabling fine control of meristem activity, organ growth, and response to environmental conditions. Perturbation of CDC2 function affects cell proliferation rates, patterning, and fertility, highlighting its central role in plant growth and morphogenesis.
