Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
CURT1B encodes a small chloroplast thylakoid membrane protein that accumulates within the internal photosynthetic membrane system, with strong enrichment at highly curved grana margin regions. It is an integral membrane component with a lumen-exposed N-terminal region followed by two closely spaced transmembrane helices forming a hairpin-like topology that anchors the protein in thylakoids and supports self-association; CURT1 family members can oligomerize, and CURT1B is among the thylakoid phosphoproteins whose phosphorylation state has been linked to remodeling of the grana-edge curvature domain. Functionally, CURT1B acts as a membrane-shaping factor that promotes and stabilizes the extreme curvature required at grana margins, thereby influencing overall thylakoid architecture, grana stacking geometry, and the plasticity of the photosynthetic membrane network; through this structural role, CURT1 proteins contribute to efficient organization of photosynthetic complexes and can affect processes that depend on dynamic grana margin regions, including thylakoid maturation during de-etiolation and membrane rearrangements associated with photosystem II maintenance and repair.
