ECHS1 Antibody (MA569660) in ICC/IF
Immunocytochemical analysis of ECHS1 in NIH/3T3 cells. Samples were incubated with ECHS1 recombinant monoclonal antibody (Product # MA569660) using a dilution of 1:200 (40x lens). Followed by a further incubation with Cy3 Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) using a dilution of 1:500 (Red). The cells were counterstained with alpha-Tubulin Mouse mAb using dilution of 1:400. Followed by incubation with 488-conjugated Goat Anti-Mouse IgG (H+L) using a dilution of 1:500 (Green). DAPI was used for nuclear staining (Blue).

The protein encoded by this gene functions in the second step of the mitochondrial fatty acid beta-oxidation pathway. It catalyzes the hydration of 2-trans-enoyl-coenzyme A (CoA) intermediates to L-3-hydroxyacyl-CoAs. The gene product is a member of the hydratase/isomerase superfamily. It localizes to the mitochondrial matrix. Transcript variants utilizing alternative transcription initiation sites have been described in the literature.
