Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 25 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana, Oryza sativa, Triticum aestivum
EF1A1, also called elongation factor 1 alpha 1, is a highly abundant cytosolic GTP binding protein that delivers aminoacyl tRNAs to the ribosome during the elongation phase of protein synthesis in plants. It cycles between GTP and GDP bound states, interacting with EF1B for nucleotide exchange and ensuring translational accuracy and efficiency. Beyond translation, EF1A1 binds actin and microtubules, contributing to cytoskeleton organization, vesicle trafficking, and responses to stress. Its expression is strong in growing tissues and can change with environmental conditions, pathogen challenge, and developmental cues. EF1A1 is often used as a reference gene for normalization in expression studies due to its stable baseline, though stability can vary with treatments, so validation is recommended.
