Western blot analysis of FNBP4 in mouse kidney. Samples were incubated with FNBP4 Polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-89450) using a dilution of 1:3,000, followed by HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) at a dilution of 1:10,000. Lysates/proteins: 25 µg per lane. Blocking buffer: 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST. Detection: ECL Enhanced Kit. Exposure time: 90s.

FNBP4 encodes a protein containing two tryptophan-rich WW domains that binds the proline-rich formin homology 1 domains of formin family proteins, suggesting a role in the regulation of cytoskeletal dynamics during cell division and migration. It also binds intersectin family proteins suggesting a role in the maintenance of membrane curvature at sites of nascent vesicle formation. Naturally occurring mutations in this gene are associated with Waardenburg anophthalmia syndrome.
