Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please, remember to spin tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from lyophilized material adhering to the cap or sides of the tubes.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
FTIP3 and FTIP4 encode Arabidopsis multiple C2 domain and transmembrane region (MCTP)-type proteins that localize to endomembrane compartments and function in the shoot apical meristem (SAM) to control intracellular protein trafficking critical for stem cell maintenance. Structurally, both proteins are characterized by multiple N-terminal C2 domains (consistent with Ca2+-dependent membrane/lipid binding) coupled to C-terminal transmembrane region(s) that anchor them to membranes, supporting roles as membrane-tethered trafficking regulators rather than soluble transcriptional factors. Biologically, FTIP3/4 act to restrain aberrant delivery of the homeobox regulator SHOOTMERISTEMLESS (STM) to the plasma membrane in peripheral SAM cells, thereby favoring STM recycling/retention in the nucleus where it sustains meristematic identity; loss of FTIP3/4 shifts STM toward plasma-membrane accumulation, enhances intercellular trafficking at the expense of nuclear localization, and accelerates stem cell differentiation with premature shoot apex termination and dwarf, bushy architecture.
