Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube. Upon reconstitution in water, store the antibody in 20 % glycerol (final) at -20°C.
For reconstitution add 50 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana, Brassica oleracea, Hordeum vulgare, Medicago truncatula, Pisum sativum, Spinacia oleracea
Ferritin 1/2 refers to plant ferritin isoforms that assemble multimeric protein shells to store excess iron safely as a mineral core, preventing iron driven oxidative damage while keeping a usable reserve for metabolism. These ferritins are largely localized to chloroplasts and can occur in other compartments depending on species and conditions. By capturing ferrous iron, promoting its oxidation, and depositing it inside the shell, Ferritin 1 and Ferritin 2 buffer iron fluctuations during development, stress, and high iron exposure. Their expression responds to iron availability, redox status, and hormone signals, linking iron homeostasis to photosynthesis, respiration, and defense. Perturbation of ferritin levels affects reactive oxygen species balance, chloroplast integrity, and growth, while enhanced ferritin can improve stress tolerance by limiting free iron and protecting cellular components.
