Store lyophilized/reconstituted at -20°C; once reconstituted make aliquots to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Please remember to spin the tubes briefly prior to opening them to avoid any losses that might occur from material adhering to the cap or sides of the tube.
For reconstitution add 200 µL of sterile water.
Specific Species Reactivity: Arabidopsis thaliana
FtsH10 encodes a chloroplast-targeted, membrane-anchored AAA+ zinc metalloprotease of the FtsH family that is integrated in plastid membranes via an N-terminal transmembrane helix, positioning its large catalytic C-terminal region on the stromal side. The protein follows the canonical FtsH architecture, combining an ATPase (AAA+) module that powers substrate unfolding and translocation with an M41 metalloprotease domain containing the conserved HExxH metal-binding motif required for proteolysis. Consistent with other plastid FtsH proteases, FtsH10 is thought to function in ATP-dependent protein quality control by recognizing, extracting, and degrading damaged, misfolded, or unassembled membrane-associated proteins in chloroplasts, thereby helping maintain plastid proteostasis and supporting proper photosynthetic membrane function and chloroplast development under conditions that elevate protein damage.
