FucGM1 is a fucosylated ganglioside and a tumor-associated glycolipid antigen expressed on the surface of certain cancer cells, most notably small cell lung cancer (SCLC). It is a modified form of the GM1 ganglioside in which a fucose residue is added to the carbohydrate moiety. FucGM1 is minimally expressed in most normal adult tissues but is highly upregulated in specific malignancies, making it a promising target for antibody-based therapies and cancer vaccines. Due to its cell surface localization and tumor-restricted expression pattern, FucGM1 is widely studied as a biomarker and immunotherapeutic target in oncology.
